Lottery is one of the world\u2019s biggest gambling industries, and it raises billions every year. Some people play it for fun, others believe that winning the lottery is their answer to a better life. While lottery prizes may sound like a big dream, it\u2019s important to keep in mind that the odds of winning are extremely low. This is why it\u2019s best to play lottery for fun and not hope that you will win the jackpot.<\/p>\n

The word \u201clottery\u201d probably derives from Middle Dutch loterijne, or from the Dutch noun lot (\u201cfate, destiny\u201d). The first state-sponsored lotteries in Europe were probably held in the 15th century to raise money for town fortifications and help the poor. The prize was usually a substantial sum of money, and advertisements for the lotteries were published in newspapers.<\/p>\n
