Poker is a card game in which players make wagers (called chips) on the outcome of a hand. It has spread worldwide and is played in homes, private clubs, casinos, and over the Internet. The rules of poker are generally the same across different variants of the game, but there may be some differences in how to handle bets and cards. To start, each player buys in with a certain amount of chips, typically representing money. Each player then has the right to call, raise or fold their hand.<\/p>\n

After the ante and blind bets have been made, a dealer takes the cards and shuffles them. Then, the player on the left of the dealer has the option to cut. The dealer then deals the cards to the players, face up or down as the game dictates.
