Gambling can be performed on a person\u2019s own or as part of a group activity with others. It can be done in various settings, including casino or sports gambling establishments and online betting websites. Gambling can have positive or negative impacts on the gambler, as well as the people and society around them. These impacts can be divided into categories of financial, labor and health and well-being impacts. These impacts occur at the personal, interpersonal and community\/society levels (see Fig. 1).<\/p>\n<p>Gamblers are often motivated by the opportunity to win money, but they may also be driven by other reasons. For example, they may enjoy the social interaction that takes place in gambling venues and the ability to meet new people or interact with existing friends in a friendly environment. Alternatively, they may be interested in learning about mathematics and probability by playing games like blackjack or poker. Some consumers may be encouraged to gamble by the fact that it can improve their chances of meeting potential romantic partners.<\/p>\n<p>If you or a loved one are struggling with gambling, seek help from professionals. They can help you identify other ways to relieve unpleasant feelings and unwind, such as exercising, spending time with friends who do not gamble, or trying a hobby. You can also join a support group, such as Gamblers Anonymous, which follows a similar structure to Alcoholics Anonymous and is staffed by former
